personal injury compensation due to car accident?

A truck going about 40miles an hour slammed my car’s passenger side. I was going aroun 25-30. He crossed a red light. Both cars were towed at the scene. My car was totalled and my insurance is issuing a check for the car. How about my not so obvious injuries? I’;ve hired a lawyer but would not tell me a detail of this kind of cases. There’;s no broken bones or surgery required. Next day, I was drowsy, couldn’;t focus, nausea, and slept a lot. My back and neck are mildly painful. Will see a doctor for that. Cat scan shows no damage in brain. I can’;t still focus on writing a paper though. Doc said it will take few weeks to get back to normal. Is it even worthwhile to continue with a lawyer. I can function with few medications but not same as pre-accident obviously. What does anyone get in this kind of case from the other insurance company? Any real life example? Thanks.
